OODPCVS and DORI: SighThor Methodology Status

Why SighThor keeps OODPCVS 2025 numeric output disabled pending a licensed normative source and independent CCTV specialist review.

What the official publication records establish

IEC lists IEC 62676-4:2025 as the current edition and records IEC 62676-4:2014 as withdrawn and replaced. The public catalogue pages do not reproduce the licensed normative threshold table.

SighThor's evidence boundary

SighThor does not currently publish OODPCVS numeric thresholds or derived zone distances. Those outputs remain disabled until the project records a licensed normative source and an independent CCTV specialist has reviewed the interpretation and implementation.

This is deliberate. A secondary-source table should not become apparently authoritative merely because software can calculate from it. Existing projects that contain an OODPCVS selection are shown as unavailable rather than silently recalculated using a substitute.

What remains available

SighThor can display the legacy IEC 62676-4:2014 nominal DORI planning model. It is labelled with its edition and revised status. Its pixel-density geometry is a planning aid, not a guarantee of identification, installed performance, evidential suitability, or current compliance.

How to prepare a defensible camera design

  • Confirm the governing edition and obtain the licensed normative requirements applicable to the project.
  • Verify the complete imaging chain, including camera, lens, compression, lighting, mounting, target, and scene conditions.
  • Commission and test the installed system under representative operating conditions.
  • Record competent specialist review before using the output for contractual, operational, or compliance decisions.

How SighThor handles future activation

OODPCVS analysis will only be activated after the licensed source, implementation mapping, test fixtures, and independent CCTV specialist approval are recorded. Until then, SighThor exposes the gap instead of inventing a result.
